There are lots of things that i need in my life to keep me at a comfortable level of sanity; purple glitter, new Tyork baked cheesecake, baby animals of intsagram, but there are a many, many more things that i simply cannot live without. here i share with you the top three things that are simply non-negotiable elements of my life. welcome to the crazy.
1. large cinnamon latte with soy milk. i grab myself one of these every day on the day to work - well, for probably the first 8 working days into the pay month, and then give up and call pauper. i then go one day without, and then happily resume on the 10th day as a reward for 'knowing i could go a day without a coffee if i wanted to, i just don't want to'. it's best for everyone, really. especially on a monday. and wednesday... and thursday. (and friday)(i heart tuesdays!) i have a wonderful relationship with the barista's in the costa on the corner of shaftesbury avenue in chinatown, so much so that i am missed on the regular avoidance-tuesdays, and get free extra shots of coffee or free flavour pumps when my favourite brazillian is working. he's great!
2. a lay-in and new girl catch ups every saturday morning. i am wildly obsessed with zooey deschanel, and boyfriend with 'nick miller' (he doesn't care to know his real name, because 'nick miller' is the man. if boyfriend could compare himself to anyone, he would want to be a combination of 'nick millier' and scott disick. bible), so 'new girl' is one of the only shows that we can both agree on, and never argue over watching first. our regular saturday morning routine is: wake up, check all social-media outlets, make toast, make tea, make more toast because i ate it as i was waiting for the tea to be made, grab biscuit tin and head back to bed. while one of us does that, the other is fiercely trying to find an 'ok' copy of the latest new girl from america (we don't like to be behind!), then settle in for 22 minutes of hilarity, occasionally glancing sideways at each other when jess or nick do something *mildly similar* to something he or i would do. it's truly the best fun a twenty-something couple could have on a saturday morning. right?
3. sleep. like, yeah, i get it; we all need sleep. but, since about 18, when i was going through my last year of high school, i've had a form of insomnia. now, nothing like christian bale in the machinist, but, awake for hours, restless sleep and awake at faintest of sounds - and always tired. thank god boyfriend doesn't snore! this probably explains my coffee addiction somewhat also... but since we got a new flatmate who is a 'night owl', i have come to appreciate the wonders of the inner ear plug. it's rough, i'll tell you.
So that's a bit about me - hope you'll look past this and come and say hi over on my blog anyway. i could do with the attention. and, your comments make me sleepy... because they keep me up reading, obviously! nothing to do with boredom, i assure you.
-Thanks Erica! I always love having you at WPS xxxx

if only i could spell properly. then my life would be 100% better.
ReplyDeleteI love new girl! This weeks episode was extremely good :)
ReplyDeleteI can understand you liking New Girl ... it quickly became one of my favorites. I also love a good latte but it would affect my sleep so I have to be careful when in the day to treat myself.
ReplyDeleteI am following you now and would love for you to follow along.
