Sam : The 3 Things I Can't Live Without

Hi everyone! My name is Sam, I'm a 26 year old Northern Irish native, & I blog at XOXO, Sam. I'm thrilled to be taking part in Kim's new '3 Things I Couldn't Live Without' feature, probably because I'm proper nosy & I can't wait to see what makes everyone else tick!
When Kim asked me to take part, the very first thing (or person, really) I thought of was my mum. Bit soppy I suppose but I really am still a mummy's girl at heart. Don't get me wrong I obviously couldn't live without my dad & sister too- but even though I live an hour away from her, my mum is a daily source of support, love, humour & inspiration. We speak everyday, and now that she's discovered the wonders of Skype I get to see her beautiful face a lot more too- it always brightens my day. No matter what I have to whinge or moan about (work, money, the general rubbishness of trying to be a functioning adult) she always listens with patience, love, and cracking advice usually too. She's also one of the most hilarious people I know, (sometimes unintentionally, ha) and I have spent many a conversation with her in tears of laughter. Plus, like all mums I suppose, she always knows precisely the moment when I need a hug.
If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram (@samantharcher for both!) then you will probably have worked out by now that I work for a major coffee brand. Before I started this job I was never really a huge coffee drinker- it was all about the tea- but now I cannot function in the morning without one (especially for those early morning 5AM rises!) It has also taught me loads about the stuff, so now not only do I love coffee, but I also know a lot more about it. My favourite kind of coffee is something bright and citrus-y (usually from Africa- Kenyan coffee tends to be my fave) brewed in a french press, but I also like a nice frothy cappuccino from time to time too. I've been practicing my latte art loads recently and have been doing pretty well, (the picture above is not one I can take credit for though, unfortunately) and my goal is to become really good at that- wish me luck!

Finally, the last thing on my list might seem like a strange thing to not be able to live without, but I am a bit obsessed with nail polish. I have FAR too many of those little bottles in my bathroom, but even still, I can't seem to stop buying them. I will be bankrupted by my nail polish addiction some day. I love it because it makes me feel really put together, and seems like I have made extra effort on my appearance, when I haven't even usually brushed my hair- it's like a little secret weapon. I'm also really into nail art and I love experimenting with that- polka dots, glitter, stripes, cats & bows, I can't really get enough of it. It's a really fun way to get creative with my style, and an instantly gratifying hobby. If you would like to have a go at some nail art too, there are tons of tutorials on the web, Pinterest is a good place to start, or check out @wahnails on Instagram for some inspiration!

Thanks Kim, for asking me to take part in this feature, it's been fun getting to talk about some of the things I love!

----Thanks, Sam, I loved reading this! More next week....
