Why, hello there! I am thrilled to be writing a little old post for one of my favourite bloggers! Who'd have thought? Little old me! When Kim asked me to write a guest post, I jumped at the chance. First things first, introductions. My name is Donna and I'm a 28 year old primary teacher living in the north west de l'angleterre ,who fell into blogging as a result of writing a bucket list. I have an unhealthy obsession for stationary, polka dots and all things Zooey Deschanel (who doesn't, right?). It took me almost three weeks to decide on just three things I can't live without and I'm still changing my mind.
Red Lipstick:
Technically, I should say No 7's lipstick in Cherry. With a slick of that bad boy, I'm transformed! I feel like a new woman. It's now been discontinued and genuinely, I used to wonder what I'd do when it runs out. Fate is cruel, and within the past month...I've lost it. The lipstick that is. Enter: No7 Stay Perfect lipstick in Love Red. It's perfect, just like its counterpart, it doesn't bleed and stays on all night long. It's best friends with my leather biker jacket and the pair go everywhere together.
Friends & Family:
Friends & Family:
So, for most, January is a month that brings glumness and skintness. But, for me, this January has been the first month following some pretty drastic life changes. Although it truly has been a fresh start, it's felt like a baptism of fire. I became single after 6 and a half years and went for a huge promotion at work... and got it. All of which have brought huge changes in my life.
Through all of this, I realised just what good friends I have! School friends, university friends, work friends, friends through friends...they have all been diamonds to chivvy me along and stand with me through thick and thin. Without them, I would be curled in a corner listening to bad music on loop and considering buying many, many cats.
Spotify:
Really, this should read music. I've always had a bit of an unhealthy obsession with it... playing it, gigging it and just plain listening to it. If I'm not doing any of these, I'm making lists about it. Spotify is my lifeline. Sounds dramatic? Here's my point in proof. At the moment, I'm addicted to Cold War Kids, especially the 'Mine is Yours' album. On Tuesday, I returned home after a long, hard day at work to no internet. No internet, no Spotify...no Cold War Kids. Distraught. Cue early night. No kidding. For me, music is a mood alternator...it lifts me up, brings me down and keeps me sane. It's the soundtrack to my life. Just so you know, I've since purchased the 'Mine is Yours' album on CD so that it *never* happens again!]
So there you have it, my top three beloved things on this earth. Of course, there's plenty more things I love... Costa Coffee, my aubergine Cambridge Satchel and Instagram photographs being very close contenders. But, for now...I think I'll settle, before I start umming and ahhing all over again! A huge thanks to Kim for featuring me on her blog, I still can't quite believe it. THANKS!
If you haven't had enough of me already, come say hi at my blog www.polkadot-pink.com I would love to see you there!
Thanks so much Donna! XOXO, Kim
